Sean Christian is an industry veteran with more than 20 years of experience under his belt. He started his career at CAMS.com where he was responsible for the affiliate program and managed to make it standard for the industry. He later took up a new challenge at online dating service Friend Finder where he was in charge of Business Development and built the team from scratch. He rose through the ranks to the position of Vice President, then took another role at Noosphere where worked on development inside of Together Networks, UpForIt Networks, and ClickDealer.
Online dating became his area of expertise and in 2015 he founded Revolution Force – an affiliate network specializing in dating offers. Outside of work Sean likes to ride a bicycle and get into some Pokemon Go here and there.

When you choose people to work with what is your thought process?
I only have three real interview questions, and the goal is to understand how that person’s thought process works. If someone can be creative and dedicated, they can accomplish anything.

What do you enjoy the most about affiliate marketing?
The landscape is always changing and there are always new challenges. I enjoy working with affiliates that are creative and intelligent, people who can build marketing tools for themselves to produce new funnels
How has dating vertical been doing this crazy year of 2020?
Online marketing can change directions at any time and can pivot into what is working. Current events don’t negatively or positively impact a company’s success. The only thing that can change is their dedication.

I don’t think that the pandemic is changing offers; I think the nature of how people are viewing online content is changing. Keeping up with trends has to do more with engagement.
What is among your most popular traffic sources?
At the moment, it’s social traffic, but our affiliates are good at generating their own trends in traffic.
What is that that many affiliates who run dating offers miss or don’t understand?
Many affiliates need to make sure that the user understands the product they are being sold or is only going to be a short-term success. Don’t burn bridges.
Any unobvious funnels or traffic sources that your top affiliates take advantage of?
I am going to circle back to the best funnels, and traffic sources are the ones that are created, not competed. Blue ocean is always the best.
What is the most important thing in the industry that you understood after 20 year of being around?
That you can not repeat the same successful methods over and over, you have to be able to adapt to the market’s demand and treads.
Do you think that affiliate marketing business in the USA is different from what it is in Europe?
Europe is a vast continent with more than 40 countries. The affiliate marketing business is different in each country, and I don’t think that geography is as important as age demographics. The young are hungry.

What media outlets do you read regularly?
NPR, BBC, and Bloomberg.
Books that you wish anyone in the industry read?
Still Life with a Woodpecker, My Talk Pretty One Day, and High Fidelity. I am completely serious when I suggest these, too.
What helps you to make better decisions?
Being able to listen and asking questions. Remaining teachable.
What helps you to work better and deliver more?
Honestly, working with people who are still growing and learning. It gives me energy and focus.
